Winter Beauty Tips From Barbara

Baby It's Cold Outside!

And your skin is giving you the cold shoulder --it's dry, tight and totally lackluster. As soon as you turn on the heat inside your home or your car, your skin starts to dry out. Here are some tips for your winter skin regimen:

Cut down on time spent in the shower if possible; instead of 15 minutes, stick to 5-10 .

Put moisturizer on right after the shower when skin is still damp as this will lock in moisture to prevent drying. The same holds true for your face. Serums and moisturizers will penetrate much better when your skin is still wet. You can also spritz your face with our Skin Recovery Mist before applying moisturizer.

Switch to a heavier facial moisturizer. (Daily Repair Mega Moisture Cream or Vitamin E Sensual Cream)

Apply a layer of moisturizing sunscreen with an SPF of 15-30. Sunscreen is important in winter because of the sun's reflective powers especially in the snow. (Photo Age Protection Gel SPF 15 to 30)

Apply a moisturizing masque 1 to 2 times per week. (Ultra-Hydrating Enzyme Masque or Chocolate Power Skin Rescue Masque)

Use a lip balm. (Cell Protection Balm)

Use a good facial exfoliant 2 to 3 times per week . This gets rid of dead skin buildup and allows your beautiful skin to shine through, leaving it soft and smooth. (Anti-Aging Exfoliant Masque)

Keep drinking water! Some of us drink more coffee during cold weather. Coffee acts as a diuretic leaving our bodies parched, so Barbara's rule is after ever cup of coffee, drink 2 cups of water.
