Here are some helpful hints to boost moisture: Raw or steamed vegetables and fresh fruits retain their water content and can help stave off the effects of aging by lending a hydrating effect to the skin.

Foods with fatty acids, like salmon, olive oil & avocados, are beneficial to the skin's moisture content. Since water can be easily flushed out, add lemon or cranberry to it, which helps the hydrating factor or water to "stick" better.

Series Time

Now that Summer is starting to come to a close and Fall is just upon us, it is series time. Six to eight treatments are done every seven to ten days depending on your needs. We now have this fabulous new skin care system for acne-prone skin. It is affordable, effective and reliable. Our esthetician, Barbara, is a Certified Face Reality Acne Specialist. It's summertime, which means it is time for waxing. With all that bare skin comes the desire for smoother, hair-free skin and time to shed dry winter skin. We all want to look and feel our best in swimsuits, shorts, skirts, and dresses. Waxing is still the best method to achieve that super smooth look we all desire this time of year.

What makes waxing so wonderful this time of year? Here are some of the benefits:

Waxing can last six to eight weeks, as the hair is removed at the root. This means it is not necessary to spend time shaving. Nice for those trips away from home.

Hair regrowth after waxing is often softer unlike the stubbly tip of shaved hair.

A side benefit of waxing is reduced growth. When body hair is regularly
waxed, the results are weakened roots and some diminished growth.

Winter Beauty Tips From Barbara

Baby It's Cold Outside!

And your skin is giving you the cold shoulder --it's dry, tight and totally lackluster. As soon as you turn on the heat inside your home or your car, your skin starts to dry out. Here are some tips for your winter skin regimen:

Cut down on time spent in the shower if possible; instead of 15 minutes, stick to 5-10 .

Put moisturizer on right after the shower when skin is still damp as this will lock in moisture to prevent drying. The same holds true for your face. Serums and moisturizers will penetrate much better when your skin is still wet. You can also spritz your face with our Skin Recovery Mist before applying moisturizer.

Switch to a heavier facial moisturizer. (Daily Repair Mega Moisture Cream or Vitamin E Sensual Cream)

Apply a layer of moisturizing sunscreen with an SPF of 15-30. Sunscreen is important in winter because of the sun's reflective powers especially in the snow. (Photo Age Protection Gel SPF 15 to 30)

Apply a moisturizing masque 1 to 2 times per week. (Ultra-Hydrating Enzyme Masque or Chocolate Power Skin Rescue Masque)

Use a lip balm. (Cell Protection Balm)
